Sights and Sounds from the final day of the 108th Farm Show

Families packed the Farm Show Complex to experience the animal exhibits and food court for one last time.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The streets surrounding the Farm Show Complex and Expo Center were flooded with traffic, as hundreds of people made their way to Harrisburg for the final day of the 108th Pennsylvania Farm Show.

“We usually come on the first day or first weekend, but this year we weren’t able to," said Kacey Norton, who visited the Farm Show with her family. "We decided to come out for the very last day.”

Families from across the Commonwealth packed into the Farm Show Complex throughout the day Saturday. Many were hoping to get a chance to see the animal exhibits, food court, and live events before the end of the night.

“It’s the last chance to see all the animals and try the food, and we like it. It’s fun for the family," said Jim Hersh, who attends the Farm Show every year with his family.

Other visitors used the day to connect with one of Pennsylvania’s most important industries.

“You really get to see a microcosm of the whole state," said Vincent Thompson, who drove from Philadelphia to be at the Farm Show. "I learn something new every day about an industry I don’t know a lot about. So, it’s always fun and I tell people to come on up.”

As this year’s Farm Show comes to a close, many people are looking forward to coming back next year.

“It’s definitely magical to create new memories at the Farm Show and not only just re-experience everything that’s familiar, but also see something new each year," said Norton.
