ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — A utility pole in Lancaster County has garnered some attention on social media recently.
The pole, which is located at the corner of Chestnut and High Street in Elizabethtown, was being held up by two wood panels and some bolts when it was first captured in a picture on social media.
PPL Electric Utilities did modify the pole in the past few weeks, adding a new pole, but the old one still stands there.
In fact, PPL officials say that they have temporarily secured the pole until it could be replaced.
However, some Elizabethtown residents don't think its safe.
Raymond Livingston told us, "It's not a pretty sight, and it's dangerous as far as I'm concerned... The new one is already there, why don't they take the old one down?"
PPL said in a statement via e-mail that the old pole is secured, and they are coordinating with other utilities to expedite the relocation of the lines and the pole's removal.
