PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Wally Gator was officially reported missing out of state Sunday after last being seen by his owner on April 21.
What began as a trip to visit friends in Brunswick, Georgia became a nightmare for owner Joie Henney of Dauphin County.
“I come out and I saw he wasn’t in his pond, I thought that was weird and I looked in the enclosure here and he was nowhere to be found,” Henney said.
Wally is Henney’s emotional support reptile and served as the visual reference for the Disney+ show Loki.
The friendly gator has appeared in community events and fundraisers across south-central Pennsylvania.
Henney says he is scared to lose his reptile companion.
“Why…why can’t people let stuff like that alone when they’re doing good.”
Henney last saw Wally around 4:30 am on Sunday April 21st.
He has no idea where Wally may have gone.
His only lead is a tip from a friend of a friend.
“Apparently this guy around 30 years old was in there bragging about how he stole Wally, apparently he has him in his house in his basement, so I don’t know, we just have to find out,” Henney said.
Henney says he waited to file a report because he didn’t have the right permit for Wally during their visit.
FOX43 reached out to several agencies who may be involved in locating Wally, including Brunswick Police Department for a comment, but did not receive a response.
All Henney can do now is wait.
“If he is returned unharmed there will be no questions asked, they’ll get the reward and just go, you know we just want Wally back. I need him back,” Henney said.
Henney plans to stay in Georgia to continue looking for Wally and says anyone with information can contact him directly by calling 717-577-0874.
Wally is a male, green, and "scaley" according to his description.
He's approximately 9-years-old, weighs under 100 lbs. and is approximately 5 feet long.
