MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Note: The video is from April 17.

It might be a little too late to celebrate Hoagiefest, but Dauphin County residents will soon have a Wawa to call their own.

The Delaware County convenience store chain announced it will open a new location near Middletown, Dauphin County on September 19. The store will be located at 1601 W. Harrisburg Pike in Lower Swatara Township.

The news was confirmed by Lori Bruce, Wawa's director of media relations.

Once it opens, the store will be Wawa's latest incursion into Central Pennsylvania, joining three locations in Lancaster County. The store also has had locations in Berks County for more than two decades, the company said.

The company said it plans to open 40 more locations in Central PA over the next few years, including stores in York Township, Hummelstown, Dover, and East Pennsboro, along with spots in Cumberland and Franklin counties. The planned expansion will be completed by the end of next year, the company claims.

Wawa's aggressive expansion will extend to Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, and Florida, the company said.
