YORK, Pa. — Update, 3/25, 9:46 a.m.: Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the third floor of 220-230 W. Jackson St. and visible fire to the rear of 226 W. Jackson St, according to the York City Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
The fire was confined to 226 W. Jackson, but there is water and smoke damage to other properties. It started because of an unintentional microwave fire caused by an electrical failure.
Damage is now estimated at $190,000 total between all the properties.
Two cats reportedly perished in the fire.

There are no reported injuries and the Red Cross is assisting the eleven people who were displaced.
