WRIGHTSVILLE, Pa. — Police have accused a York County man of exposing himself to a woman and attempting to prevent her from leaving the room when she rejected his advances.
Michael Joseph Genner Jr. 37, of Wrightsville, is charged with indecent exposure, two counts of harassment, and false imprisonment in connection to the alleged incident, which occurred in the early morning hours of March 5 at Genner's home on the 500 block of Riverview Drive, according to Lower Windsor Township Police.
The victim reported she was drinking with Genner in his garage when he began making sexual advances toward her as she sat on a couch. When she rejected him, he allegedly pulled down his pants and exposed himself.
The victim said she eventually stood up and attempted to leave the room, but Genner grabbed her upper arm and locked the deadbolt and doorknob of the garage door in an effort to prevent her from leaving. He continued to make sexual advances toward her and ignoring her pleas for him to stop, the victim told police.
The victim reported she called a friend after the assault, and the friend accompanied her to the Lower Windsor Township Police station to report the incident.
Police said the victim did not call 911 directly after the incident because she was fearful of retaliation from Genner if she reported her allegations to authorities.
Earlier in the week, Genner was arrested for allegedly trying to run another woman off the road at a nearby elementary school, police said.
Genner was taken into custody and arraigned on the charges before Magisterial Judge James H. Morgan, who set bail at $25,000, according to court records. He is being held in York County Prison after failing to post bail.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 20.
