YORK, Pa. — The coroner was called after at least one car crashed into a building in York Sunday evening, according to York County 911 Dispatch.
The crash occurred just after 6:50 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the intersection of East Philadelphia and North Sherman Streets, Dispatch said. Two cars were involved in the crash, and at least one hit the building.
Dispatch says several patients were taken to the hospital, and the coroner was called to the scene. According to the coroner's report, a fetus was pronounced dead at WellSpan York Hospital.
The roadway was closed for several hours while crews worked at the scene.
According to police, an adult pregnant woman had been in a two-vehicle crash just before 7 p.m. on Sunday evening. The woman had reportedly been a front-seat passenger in a minivan traveling west on Philadelphia Street when a second vehicle ran a red light at the intersection, colliding with the minivan.
The York City Police Department is investigating the incident.
