YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Update, Sept. 4, 5:19 a.m.: The man who became stuck in his silo died as a result of the incident, the York County Coroner's Office announced.
The coroner says authorities do not know exactly when Steve Gross Jr., 55, entered the corn silo, but he was found unresponsive in the unloading chute on Sunday afternoon. Gross Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene, around 2:30 p.m.
According to the coroner, York County Area Regional Police are investigating the incident. OSHA was also notified of the workplace death.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning. Gross Jr.'s cause and manner of death are pending the autopsy. The coroner says the family has been notified, and more information may be released after they are given the results of the autopsy.

Emergency dispatchers stated that the incident occurred at a farm on the 100 block of Manchester Street, and the first call was received at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Additionally, dispatch confirmed that the incident involved a man stuck in a silo.
