18-year-old pronounced dead at the scene of York County motorcycle crash

According to the York County Coroner's Office, 18-year-old Josiah Marrero was pronounced dead at the scene.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The coroner responded to a deadly motorcycle crash in York on Thursday morning.

The crash occurred around 10:49 a.m. on March 14 on Cape Horn Road between Lombard Road and Woodridge Road. According to the York County Coroner's Office, 18-year-old Josiah Marrero was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Marrero was reportedly wearing a helmet during the crash.

According to the coroner's report, he had been traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Cape Horn Road, passing cars on the shoulder of the road. Unable to see a turning vehicle, Marrero struck the side of it.

The York County Regional Police Department had requested that the public avoid the area as officers investigated and performed a crash reconstruction. 

According to SPIN, the road was reopened around 3:30 p.m. However, motorists were asked to continue to use caution as crews continued to clean the scene.
