YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The coroner reported to a water rescue in Pinchot State Park on Tuesday evening.
According to York County Emergency Dispatch, the coroner was called to the Quaker Race Day Use Area swimming beach following a reported water rescue at 4:58 p.m.
According to the York County Coroner's Office, 31-year-old Brittney Hoffman, from York City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say Hoffman was found unresponsive in the water, and life-saving measures were taken. Despite this, she never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at 5:55 p.m.
The coroner says the incident appears to be a probable drowning. However, her cause and manner of death have yet to be released.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
