Driver uninjured after sprayer truck overturns into York County pond, authorities say

FAWN GROVE, Pa. — A truck driver escaped serious injury in York County on Monday afternoon when his sprayer truck overturned into a pond in Fawn Township, a local fire company said on Facebook.

The incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. on a property in Fawn Grove, according to the Citizens Volunteer Fire Company. 

The initial report indicated two people were trapped inside the truck, which was almost completely submerged, the fire company said. As fire units arrived on the scene, they were advised that the operator of the vehicle was the only person inside, and he managed to extract himself without injury.

The 3/4-acre pond is approximately 30 feet deep, the fire company said.

York County Hazmat, State Police, and the Department of Environmental Protection were also dispatched to the scene, the fire company said.

The crash remains under investigation.
