7 people evacuated from York home due to fire

Seven people were evacuated from a York home due to an early morning fire on Wednesday.

YORK, Pa. — Several people were forced to evacuate from their home early Wednesday morning after a fire broke out in York.

First responders were alerted to a fire in the 200 block of Pattison Street around 5 a.m. on Jan. 3, according to York County 911 Dispatch.

Dave Ferguson, assistant fire chief of York City Fire and Rescue, says the fire caused no injuries, and seven people in the home were evacuated. The Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced. The blaze left severe damage on the rear of the building.

911 Dispatch says that the fire appears to have been caused by something electrical, but the investigation is ongoing.
