YORK, Pa. — State Police are investigating the death of an inmate in York County Prison Thursday night.
Troopers responded to the prison at about 11:50 p.m. after being notified of an inmate who was found unresponsive.
EMS were dispatched to the facility and pronounced the inmate dead, police said.
He was identified as Haywood Dixon, 39, of Columbia, Lancaster County.
The State Police York Criminal Investigative Unit and the York County Coroner's Officer also responded to the incident, according to police.
The matter remains under investigation.
