Police: York County woman led police on high-speed chase while attempting to escape with another suspect

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — A York County woman is facing multiple charges after leading police on a high-speed chase in Fairview Township.

LynnAnn Steinmeier, 33, of New Cumberland, was charged after police terminated their pursuit of her vehicle out of safety concerns on September 22, according to Fairview Township Police.

The chase began at a hotel on the 300 block of Lewisberry Road, police said.

Officers searching for another wanted subject, who fled with Steinmeier in the vehicle. The other subject, whom police did not identify, was a passenger in the vehicle, police said.

Steinmeier drove off at a high rate of speed, placing the public and the pursuing officers in danger, police said.

Since she and the other subject were known to police, the officers called off their pursuit and filed additional charges against her. Steinmeier and the other person were arrested a few days later, police said.

Steinmeier is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving without a license, careless driving, reckless driving, failing to stop at a red signal, disregarding traffic lanes and making careless turning movements in relation to the incident.
