YORK, Pa. — As Central Pennsylvania gets its first taste of winter weather on Friday, a York organization announced it is making room for more patrons at its emergency overnight shelter and extending its warming station hours.
LifePath Christian Ministries, located at 367 West Market St., said it will have additional beds available at its overnight shelter available on a first-come, first-served basis. The beds are available for anyone in need of overnight shelter. Anyone seeking shelter can call (717) 472-8911 to be screened and register for services.
Guests must register between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and show up between 5:30-6:30 p.m. to retain the bed once registered.
Once a guest is registered for Code Blue overnight shelter, they will have the bed continuously unless a shelter night is missed. They do not need to re-register daily to maintain their bed if they slept in one the night before.
Additionally, LifePath is offering extended hours at its Warming Station at the same location. Normally open from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. seven days a week, due to Friday's winter weather the Warming Station will be open from 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday. Anyone is welcome to stop in and warm up during these hours, the organization said.
