YORK COUNTY, Pa. — An Ohio man is facing multiple charges after police say he threatened to stab multiple people during a drunken altercation at a York County home Sunday afternoon.
Michael Hubert Livers, 27, of Wadsworth, Ohio, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of simple assault, one count of terroristic threats, one count of obstructing law enforcement and summary counts of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct in connection to the alleged incident, which occurred around 1 p.m. in Fairview Township, charging documents state.
Fairview Township Police were dispatched to a home on the 100 block of Yellow Breeches Drive at 1:02 p.m. for a report of an altercation involving a man with a knife. Arriving officers located the suspect, later identified as Livers, in the street outside the home. Police say Livers was visibly intoxicated, slurring his speech, stumbling and yelling.
Police took Livers into custody, but he allegedly resisted attempts to place him in the back of a police vehicle, wedging his foot in the door to prevent officers from closing it.
Witnesses told police Livers became argumentative when the owners of the home asked him to leave. He allegedly refused to leave, brandished a knife, and threatened several people at the scene.
One bystander attempted to disarm Livers and was cut several times on his index finger, police said.
While inside the police vehicle, Livers allegedly continued to act in an irate and destructive manner and resisted officers' attempts to confine him with a seat belt. He allegedly threatened to kill two officers and kicked one officer in the groin, according to the complaint.
Livers was arraigned on the charges and is free after posting bail of $100,000 through a bondsman, according to court records.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 27.
