The popular York County winery and vineyard announced it's reopening for business amidst its legal battle to continue operating.

WRIGHTSVILLE, Pa. — Moon Dancer Winery will once again be open for business this weekend amidst a continuing battle in York County Court. In a press release issued this morning, Moon Dancer announced that it has received court approval to reopen for business while it continues to fight its legal battle for survival.

A neighbor has sued the business over violating the deed restrictions in the development where the winery is located.

York County Court issued an order on Wednesday, Aug. 7 granting Moon Dancer Winery’s request for a stay of the previous court order that had forced it to close its doors.

The winery will reopen for business this weekend and is now able to remain open during its court appeal. Moon Dancer will be open Saturday, Aug. 10 and Sunday, Aug. 11, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring live music from 2 to 5 p.m. both days. Regular operating hours will resume starting next week.

“We’re grateful to the court for granting our stay, and we’re so excited to be able to reopen,” said Moon Dancer owner Jim Miller. “After more than two decades, this has become more than a business; it’s our life. We can’t wait to reopen our doors this weekend, serving wines, ciders and wood-fired pizzas to all our loyal and long-standing supporters.”

The winery has been closed for more than three weeks as a result of a long-running legal dispute regarding the winery’s picturesque farm property on Klines Run Road, overlooking the Susquehanna River. The lawsuit, brought by a couple who owns a nearby property, centers on the use of Miller’s agriculturally zoned property as a vineyard and winery. The business has grown, bottled and labeled products for 20 years before the legal issues.

The case is now in Pennsylvania Superior Court for consideration, and Moon Dancer can continue operations while that appeal goes forward.
