YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Police in York County are investigating a suspected hit-and-run crash that injured a 53-year-old man and his 10-year-old daughter.

It occurred Sunday at about 12:26 p.m. on York Road at Porters Road in Heidelberg Township, according to Northern York County Regional Police.

Witnesses reported that a white Ford Explorer had stopped at a stop sign facing south on Porters Rd. at York Rd. While pulling out to make a left turn onto York Rd., the Explorer struck a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling east on the roadway.

The operator of the motorcycle and his passenger, both from Seven Valleys, were ejected from the motorcycle in the crash, police said. Both riders were wearing helmets.

The 10-year-old victim was taken to Hershey Medical Center for treatment of serious head injuries, while the 53-year-old victim was transported to York Hospital for treatment of extensive injuries. He is expected to recover, police said.

After the crash, the Explorer did not stop at the scene, fleeing west on York Road toward Hanover, according to police.

Investigators collected auto parts from the scene, which indicated the suspect's vehicle was a 2003-2005 Ford Explorer. The vehicle likely has damage to the front driver's side area, police said.

Anyone with information about the crash or the suspect vehicle is asked to contact NYCRPD at (717) 464-8355 or tips@nycrpd.org.
