YORK COUNTY, Pa. — One person was injured after a garage fire broke out in York County.
Fire crews responded to the 2700 block of Coldspring Road around noon on Monday, Nov. 11. Officials say most of the damage was contained to the garage while rooms above the garage and the rest of the home sustained smoke damage.
One person was reportedly taken to the hospital with burns. Their condition is unknown at this time.
Fire Battalion Chief Curbin Wolfgang with York Area United Fire and Rescue says the public should make sure their home is up-to-date with fire safety measures.
"Make sure your home has working smoke detectors and, during this dry time, make sure you keep all the leaves and flammables away from your home. Right now, it's not open burn," Chief Wolfgang explained.
There's been no word yet on how the fire started.
