NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — Police in York County have charged a Baltimore woman with robbing two people at a Fairview Township hotel last week.

Patricia Gilmer, 33, is charged with two counts of robbery, three counts of receiving stolen property, one count of burglary, and one count of possession of marijuana in connection to the alleged incident, which occurred at 9:38 p.m. on June 7 at a Fairfield Inn on Beacon Hill Boulevard, according to Fairview Township Police.

Officers responding to the hotel learned that two women staying at the hotel were robbed by a woman who entered their room and demanded they hand over their purses. The woman claimed to have a gun and kept one hand in the waistband of her pants, implying that she was holding a handgun, the victims reported.

She allegedly threatened to shoot the victims if they did not comply, the women reported.

Fearing for their lives, the victims gave the suspect their purses, at which point she fled from the scene, the victims reported.

The victims gave police a physical description of the suspect. Police began canvassing the area and found a woman matching the description sitting inside a white Subaru Outback in the parking lot of a nearby hotel, police said.

When the woman exited the vehicle, police approached her. She identified herself as Patricia Gilmer and claimed to be staying at a Super 8 hotel with relatives -- a claim police later determined to be untrue.

Police observed two Michael Kors purses in the victim's vehicle matching the description of the purses provided by the victims.

Gilmer was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of items belonging to the victims as well as a small amount of marijuana, according to police.

The vehicle she was seen in was also reported stolen out of Baltimore, police said.
