Driver flees after hitting man on scooter, fracturing his skull

Pennsylvania State Police are seeking help identifying the driver who hit a man on a scooter and then fled, leaving the victim with a fractured skull.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A driver in York County yesterday struck a pedestrian and fled, leaving the man lying on the ground with a fractured skull.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred around 7 p.m. on Jan. 18 in the 2200 block of Bridgeview Road in Hopewell Township.

Troopers say the victim was riding a scooter when the car struck him from behind, throwing him from the scooter. The 19-year-old landed near the guard rail with a fractured skull.

The vehicle fled east on Bridgeview Road, according to investigators. First responders rushed the victim to the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. PSP is asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle that fled the scene. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to contact PSP York Station at 717-428-1011.
