RED LION, Pa. — A York County man has been charged with attempted murder after police say he stabbed another man multiple times during an altercation last Friday.
Joel McWilliams, 36, of Red Lion, is also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of an offensive weapon, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment in connection to the alleged incident, which occurred at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 23, State Police said Tuesday.
According to police, McWilliams and the victim got into an altercation on the 300 block of 1st Avenue in Red Lion. During the fight, McWilliams pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the cheek and neck.
The victim was taken to York Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.
McWilliams was taken into custody and was arraigned on the charges.
A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
