YORK, Pa. — York City residents have been targeted in a recent scam attempt this weekend.
According to the City of York's Facebook page, residents received text messages claiming they owed money for a parking violation.
They were reportedly told to visit a link sent to them and pay a fee of $4.15 if they wanted to avoid a late fee of $35.
The post urged York residents to report questionable emails or texts to York City Hall and to call (717) 849-2230 if they ever have questions related to parking fees.
