DALLASTOWN, Pa. — A York County man is facing multiple felony charges and other offenses after York County Regional Police claim he sexually assaulted at least five juvenile victims over a period of years.
John P. Grove, 50, of Dallastown, is charged with three counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, multiple counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, and multiple counts of corruption of minors.
According to police, the investigation was launched in January, when a concerned citizen contacted authorities with claims that Grove had sexually assaulted two juveniles. The claims were later corroborated by the victims' mother and the victims themselves, according to the criminal complaint affidavit.
Over the course of the investigation, numerous other victims came forward with similar claims against Grove, some dating back as far as 24 years, the complaint states.
The victims all claimed Grove would touch them inappropriately. Some victims claimed Grove would ensure their silence by buying them gifts or warning them not to tell anyone because "they would both get into trouble," the complaints state.
The alleged assaults occurred at multiple locations, including homes in York and Dallastown as well as Pinchot State Park, the victims claimed.
Grove was charged and arraigned in July. He remains in York County Prison after failing to post bail of $100,000, according to court records.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 5.
