Woman posing as Verizon employee defrauds several victims in York County

The woman, who was wearing a high-visibility vest, got inside victims' homes to access their private account information and used it to create false accounts.

YORK, Pa. — Police in York County are warning residents about a suspicious person posing as a Verizon employee to defraud unwary victims.

According to Springettsbury Township Police, a white female suspect wearing a hi-visibility vest walked through neighborhoods in their jurisdiction Tuesday afternoon. The woman knocked on doors in multiple neighborhoods, gained access to several homes, and obtained private account information from victims, which she used to create false accounts, police said.
