Unexploded device found in York County

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — An unexploded ordnance was found in York County by a construction crew.

According to the Northern York County Regional Police Department, officers responded to the 5000 block of Lewisberry Road in Conewago Township for the device. 

Officers and Strinestown Community Fire Company 26 secured the scene until the shell could be safely removed by the Pennsylvania State Police Ordnance Disposal Unit. 

It's unclear what time period the ordnance is from.
