YORK COUNTY, Pa. — UPDATE (11 a.m.): The train involved in this incident was a southbound Norfolk Southern that was traveling from Allentown to Birmingham, Alabama, according to Norfolk Southern.
The railroad crossing was at the entrance to a private home and marked with a stop sign.
Norfolk Southern is continuing their investigation into this crash.
PREVIOUS: A vehicle disabled on train tracks was struck by a train Friday evening in Carroll Township, according to emergency dispatch.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. along Sheffield Drive.
The vehicle became disabled as the driver was trying to cross the train tracks but they and their passenger were able to get out before the crash, said police.
No one was injured.
