YORK, Pa. — Lovers of a certain eastern Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain may be thrilled to hear that the chain plans to expand its western front.
Wawa is making plans to come to York. TRUE Commercial Real Estate sold 3.5 acres of land along West Market Street/Route 30 to make room for the gas station. The gift came just in time for the holidays, with the real estate company announcing the deal on Facebook in late December.
Wawa has a dedicated following that is often at odds with Sheetz lovers in the Commonwealth. The chain is known for its selection of made-to-order food and drinks, grab-and-go snacks and gas pumps.
The new store will be located at 4545 W. Market Street in York.
Currently, the westernmost Wawa in Pennsylvania is in East Petersburg, Lancaster County.
