YORK, Pa. — Wawa is gearing up to open its fourth location in central Pennsylvania with a new spot in York.
The company announced on Dec. 13 that the York location will reside at 4535 West Market Street.
The grand opening will take place on Thursday, Dec. 19, and the first 100 customers will receive a free T-shirt. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local officials, an announcement of grants from the Wawa Foundation, and a "Hoagies for Heroes" hoagie-building competition between first responders benefitting local charities.
The store will also be offering free any-size hot coffee from Dec. 19-29.
At 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 19, there will be a countdown to the doors officially opening at 8 a.m. At 8:30 a.m., the ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin.
The company announced that over the next five years, Wawa plans to open 40 stores in the central Pa. market, opening approximately 5-7 a year.
