YORK, Pa. — A York man is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault and resisting arrest, after police say he attacked an officer attempting to take him into custody for trespassing in a woman's home and providing false identification to an officer.
Kai Samuel Bolden, 46, was charged by West Manchester Township Police dispatched to investigate a reported attempted burglary at a home on the 1700 block of Altland Avenue on October 25, according to a criminal complaint affidavit.
The homeowner called police to report a man banging on her door and attempting to get inside her home, the complaint states.
When police responded, they found a male suspect, later identified as Bolden, standing outside a white Lexus RX parked in the victim's driveway. There were two televisions on the ground outside the vehicle, and it appeared to the officer that Bolden was attempting to load them in the car, according to the complaint.
When asked what he was doing there, Bolden allegedly told police he was there "getting property," police said.
Bolden allegedly gave police a false name and social security number when asked to provide identification. The officers informed him he was under investigation after confirming the identification he gave police was not accurate, according to the complaint.
Police also spoke to the victim, who told them Bolden was storing a television at her home, but did not have her permission to enter at that time. After she called police, she realized Bolden had already been in her home and garage, entering through a locked door in the breezeway. He allegedly stole a gallon of iced tea and a pack of popsicles, police said.
When informed he was going to be arrested, Bolden allegedly attempted to flee, but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit, police said. He also allegedly resisted arrest by elbowing an officer in the head, causing the officer to sustain a bruise, and kicked another officer in the leg, police said.
He was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, according to police.
Bolden is charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespassing, escape, flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest, providing false identification to police and possession of marijuana.
