YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A borough in York County received extensive damage after Saturday's storms hit the area.

According to the Northeastern York County Emergency Management Agency, Maple Street in Mount Wolf Borough sustained "major damage" and is closed between 4th and 6th Street.

Mount Wolf Elementary School is completely inaccessible, and the management agency goes on to state that there are multiple hazards in the area. Mount Wolf's park was also closed due to "numerous trees and wires down."

The area's power grid has likewise been affected, and the agency expects it to remain that way for an extended period of time.

In another post, the agency advised residents from Mount Wolf Borough, Manchester Borough and East Manchester Township to remain aware of their surroundings due to the widespread storm damage causing multiple trees and wires down.

"Met Ed and public works crews are out and working to mitigate any issues," the agency said in their Facebook post. "Many of the downed power lines are still energized!"

Additionally, Mount Wolf Borough officials are asking residents with any storm damage to check the borough website so the total damage cost can be calculated and the area can potentially receive financial assistance.
