York County police investigating shots fired into farming field, searching for suspect

The suspect allegedly fired six shots, returned to his red Jeep Liberty and left the scene.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — York County police are seeking the public's help in locating a suspect.

According to the Northern York County Regional Police Department, on May 19 at 10:34 a.m., officers investigated a trespassing report along the 400 block of Jug Road in Conewago Township. 

The trespasser reportedly parked on Maple Run Drive and walked into a farmer's field. The suspect allegedly fired six shots, returned to his red Jeep Liberty and left the scene. 

The registration of the Jeep is unknown. 

A police officer was able to walk into the field and recover six spent 9mm shell casings. The property owner was contacted and reported that they did not give anyone permission to target shoot on the property. 

It is unknown what the suspect was shooting at in the field.
