YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the upcoming closure of a York County Road during the first weekend of November.
According to PennDOT, westbound Route 30 will be closed for a sinkhole repair project on the right shoulder east of the offramp to Route 74 (Carlisle Street).
Weather permitting, this road will be closed from Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. to Nov. 4 at 6 a.m., unless circumstances require a longer closure. There will be a detour, which will take drivers traveling west on Route 30 through Roosevelt Avenue, Route 238 and Route 74.
The sinkhole repair project will be part of a pavement patching project by JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs. This project will also include concrete patching and paving, diamond grinding, base repair, asphalt milling and overlay and updating guide rails from Route 74 to Interstate 83 in West Manchester Township, as well as work on Roosevelt Avenue from Marbrook Lane in the City of York and Mancester Township to north of Greenbriar Road in West Manchester Township.
The entire project is expected to be completed by November 2025.
