York County SPCA and popular food app are looking to find a forever home for Grubhub (the cat)

Someone delivered the cat to the SPCA grounds during off-hours in January, the organization said. Grubhub (the app) found the story on Google and offered to help.

YORK, Pa. — The York County SPCA is working with a famous food delivery app to find an adoptive home for Grubhub (the cat).

An unknown person delivered the feline to the York County SPCA grounds during off-hours in January, the SPCA said.

The shelter took in the kitty and dubbed him Grubhub, after the popular food-delivery app, the SPCA said.

Recently, the communications office at Grubhub (the app) found the cat's story on a Google alert and reached out to the York County SPCA to help find a forever home for its namesake.

Grubhub (the app) and the York County SPCA even collaborated on an Instagram post, hoping to spread the word.

In addition to picking up the adoption fee, Grubhub (the app) sent the SPCA a box of swag as a gift for whoever adopts the cat, and gave the SPCA a generous donation as well, the organization said.

"Grubhub is still available for adoption, and we are so hopeful this exposure will allow us to find him the perfect forever home," a spokesperson with the York County SPCA said. "He is a sweeet cat with a big personality."
