YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The death of three people in York County has been ruled a murder-suicide.

According to the Hanover Borough Police Department, officers responded to a reported stabbing along the 900 block of East Walnut Street at 10:12 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28.

The first arriving officer found a 27-year-old man suffering from a severe laceration on his neck. The victim told a bystander that his dad was responsible for the assault and that other family members may be injured inside the home.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his wounds and was later released.

Officers entered the home and found the bodies of Dylan Arvizu-Morales, 17, and Guadalupe Arvisu-Morales, 49.

No one was inside the home and it was apparent to police that both victims had struggled with their attacker during the assault, according to officers.

Officers were quickly notified of a suspicious man hiding behind a car towards the rear of the 900 block of Broadway. Police approached the man on foot and found him lying on the ground, suffering from multiple stab wounds. A bloody knife was also reportedly located near his body.

Lifesaving measures were started by officers at the scene and Hanover Area Fire and Rescue EMS were called to assist.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. He was identified as Rogelio Arvizu, 50, who was the husband of Guadalupe and father of Dylan.

The police department had been looking for Rogelio in connection with the homicides and assault and had obtained an arrest warrant before his death.

The York County Coroner's Office ruled the manner of deaths of Dylan and Guadalupe as homicides, while Rogelio's manner of death was ruled a suicide.

A subsequent investigation revealed the murders and assault of the 27-year-old were acts of domestic violence. Rogelio reportedly confronted and fatally assaulted his son and wife separately in the home.

Before the officer's arrival, the 27-year-old victim arrived at the home and was physically attacked and stabbed by Rogelio; the victim was able to fight back and flee, where he was able to summon a bystander to call 911.

Rogelio reportedly fled the home on foot and inflicted mortal wounds upon himself, according to the Hanover Borough Police Department.
