YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A York County winery will be temporarily closing it's doors to the public.

Moon Dancer Vineyards & Winery Inc. announced Friday that it will be forced to close its doors temporarily, starting next week.

The winery, which just celebrated its 20th anniversary on May 25, will remain open for normal business hours on Friday, June 7, Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. During that time, the winery will continue to offer its wine, cider, hard sodas, wood-fired pizzas and live music.

Following the close of the business on Sunday, Moon Dancer will temporarily close.

“While we are heartbroken to have to close our doors for any period of time, we simply don’t have a choice,” said Jim Miller, the owner of Moon Dancer Winery. “We are very grateful for the support of everyone who has been able to share our beautiful dream on the Susquehanna River hills over the past 20 years and encourage everyone to come out to Moon Dancer this weekend before our temporary closure.”

According to Moon Dancer Winery, the winery has been forced to temporarily close its doors as a result of a court order stemming from a legal dispute regarding the use of the winery's farm property on Klines Run Road overlooking the Susquehanna River.

The court order reportedly requires Moon Dancer to suspend operations on its agriculturally zoned property following the closure on June 9. The winery is seeking permission from the court to reopen as soon as possible, with a goal of remaining in operation while litigation continues.

“We are hopeful to resolve this legal matter quickly so that we may reopen as soon as possible,” Miller said. “Closing for even one day is incredibly painful for us. We appreciate our customers’ support and understanding during this difficult time.”
