YORK, Pa. — York residents celebrated Labor Day with the city's annual Labor Day Festival on Monday night.
The festival at Kiwanis Lake featured live music and dance, food vendors, bounce houses, face paint and a fireworks display to cap off the night.
York residents and officials say the festival is a way for the community to put their differences aside and celebrate the holiday together.
"Our differences are not as many as we sometimes hear they are, or people pretend they are," said State Representative Carol Hill-Evans of York. "We have a lot of things in common, and community is what we have in common. That's what we're seeing out here today."
Children from local dance troupes performed at the festival, which also held a TikTok dance competition.
