YORK, Pa. — York Revolution closer Matt Turner has signed a deal with the Colorado Rockies and is expected to join either the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats or the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes.
Revs manager Rick Forney made the announcement through a press release on Tuesday.
"We're extremely happy for Matt," Forney said. "He came in and went about his business with a great work ethic every day. It once again shows that the system works and he's very deserving of this opportunity."
During the regular season, the 25-year-old closer was 4-1 and had a 2.44 ERA in his 49 appearances, a team-high and the fifth-most in the Atlantic League. Turner also had the Atlantic League's second highest amount of save totals with 17 and was one of five Revs on the 2024 Atlantic League Postseason All-Star Team.
Following his 2024 season with the Revs, Turner played in the Mexican League, where he is 3-1 and has a 1.53 ERA in his 17 appearances for Monterrey.
He has also spent the first six seasons of his career playing for the Cleveland Guardians organization and was named an Organizational All-Star in 2019.
