SAN FRANCISCO — Polling centers are closing across the United States and the race is on as votes are counted. With winners already projected in over a dozen of states, here's a look back at how each state voted in 2020.
There are seven battleground states that will ultimately decide the outcome: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin.

There were some changes between 2020's and 2024's map: Seven states lost one electoral vote each, while six states gained representation, according to Census-based reapportionment.
