FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — A lifelong resident of Franklin County, Cameron Schroy (D) is running to represent District 33 in the Pa. State Senate.

Schroy is a civics teacher who is passionate about raising educational standards and making sure every Pennsylvanian child has a fair shot at a great life.

He is currently the chair of the Franklin County Democratic Committee, of which he has been a member since 2014.

Schroy and his wife live in Greencastle with their cat and dog.

In a Ballotpedia survey, Schroy listed a fully funded public education, protecting democracy, and healthcare for all, as his top goals if elected to office.

He also strongly believes accessibility is the most important characteristic of anyone in public office.

"Every elected representative must be willing to meet with their constituents one-on-one - even the ones who did not vote for you. It is unthinkable to me that there are state legislators who have no desire to hold townhall meetings, be publicly available, or even put themselves in a position to receive any criticism whatsoever, " said Schroy.

Schroy is running unopposed in the Democratic primary.

He hopes to unseat Sen. Doug Mastriano (R) in the November general elections.
