U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D) and Republican challenger David McCormick have agreed to debate before November's election.

The two plan to face off in Harrisburg on Oct. 3 in a debate moderated by abc27's Dennis Owens.

"I’m looking forward to debating Bob Casey on October 3 in Harrisburg!" McCormick posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Senate hopefuls have both agreed to debates in Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, Casey's team said. His camp lists the next two debates as in Pittsburgh with KDKA on Oct. 9 and in Philadelphia with 6ABC on Oct. 15, but McCormick has neither confirmed nor denied whether he will attend them. In June, he expressed interest in debating Casey in these markets and others.

"Senator Casey looks forward to debating at the same stations that have held Senate debates in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia for over a decade," Casey's campaign website says. "He is proud to continue Pennsylvania’s long history of political debates and looks forward to making his case for re-election and engaging his opponent on the issues that matter to people of the Commonwealth."
