YORK, Pa. — Amanda Waldman is running unopposed on the Democratic ticket in the Pennsylvania Primary, seeking to unseat incumbent Republican Dan Meuser in the 9th Congressional District for a second straight election cycle.
In the 2022 general election, Meuser defeated Waldman by nearly 40 points, racking up an advantage of 116,000 votes.
Waldman also unsuccessfully tried to win a seat in Pennsylvania's 8th Congressional District in 2020, losing to Joe Hamm.
A Lycoming County native, Waldman is a financial representative in the Medicare industry and sits on several local boards and committees, according to her campaign website.
Waldman is the only Democrat who has filed to run against Meuser, who is seeking re-election.
The 9th Congressional District covers all of Bradford, Columbia, Lebanon, Montour, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties, as well as parts of Berks, Luzerne, and Lycoming counties.
