John Joyce (R) - U.S. House District 13

John Joyce (R) is running for reelection to the U.S. House to represent Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District. He is running unopposed.

Incumbent Republican John Joyce (R) is seeking reelection to represent Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District. His current term began on Jan. 3, 2023 and ends on Jan. 3, 2025.

His is running unopposed on the April 23 primary ballot.

Joyce first took office for the 13th District in 2019. 

"Since arriving on Capitol Hill, Congressman Joyce has prioritized and championed legislation and initiatives focused on delivering affordable, quality healthcare in rural communities, lowering energy prices, and expanding access to high-speed internet across South Central Pennsylvania," Joyce's website claims.

He is a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the vice chair of the House GOP Doctor’s Caucus.

In 2023, he voted "nay" to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 and Declaring the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives to be vacant, according to Ballotpedia.

In the same year, he voted "yea" to terminate the requirement imposed by the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for proof of COVID-19 vaccination for foreign travelers and for other purposes and electing Kevin McCarthy (R) as Speaker of the House.

Joyce endorsed Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election.

Before serving in Congress, Joyce earned his B.S. from Penn State University and his M.D. from Temple University. He and his wife, Dr. Alice Plummer Joyce, established Altoona Dermatology Associates in 1991. The representative is the third generation of his family to be born and raised in Altoona.
