HARRISBURG, Pa. — Editor's note: The above video is from April 26, 2023.

Malcolm Kenyatta (D) will be on Pennsylvania's April 23 primary ballot in two spots: for House of Representatives and Auditor General.

He will face Mark Pinsley for Auditor General and Lewis Nash Sr. for Representative.

Kenyatta says he is running for Auditor General to further the work he started as a member of the House of Representatives.

"As Auditor General, I will stand up for our workers by creating the first ever Bureau of Labor and Worker Protections and use the power of the office to take on wage theft, employee misclassification, and union busting. Every worker deserves a decent wage and the right to unionize. I’ll also protect pension funds by ensuring they are properly funded and managed," his website says.

Kenyatta was first elected to the Commonwealth's House of Representatives in 2018 and has served three consecutive terms.

He has sponsored several bills during his time in office, including House Bill 975 to establish the Employee Child-Care Public Private Partnership Fund and one to designate March 29, 2024 as "Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day" in Pennsylvania.

The representative was born in Philadelphia and earned his bachelor's degree in public communications with a minor in political science from Temple University, according to Ballotpedia. He previously served as the diversity and inclusion engagement coordinator for the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia.

If Kenyatta wins both elections, he will have to choose which office to relinquish.
