LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — Russ Diamond (R) has represented District 102 in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since December 1, 2014.
Diamond was born in Hershey and grew up in Lebanon County, where he later graduated from North Lebanon High School and Lebanon County Vo-Tech in 1981. He still resides close by, in an Annville home built by his great-grandparents.
Before he took office, Diamond was named one of three Citizens of the Year by the Philadelphia Inquirer for his government reform advocacy in 2006, according to his website. Additionally, Diamond received the Public Service Achievement Award from the Common Cause of Pennsylvania that same year and was named Communicator of the Year by the Harrisburg chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.
As of the 2023-24 Legislative Session, Diamond has served as the Chair of the Gaming Oversight Committee.
Causes that Diamond supports include overhauling the Commonwealth's two statewide pension systems to reduce debt, and eliminating property taxes.
Diamond will be running against Rachel Moyer in the Republican primary on April 23.
District 102 includes part of Lebanon County, including the boroughs of Cleona, Jonestown, Myerstown, Palmyra and Richland and the townships of Annville, Bethel, Heidelberg, Jackson, Millcreek, Swatara Union, East Hanover, North Annville and North Londonderry.
