PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Former Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale will run for Pennsylvania Attorney General in November after winning Tuesday's Democratic primary.
DePasquale defeated fellow Democrats Keir Bradford-Grey, Joe Khan, Jared Solomon, and Jack Stollsteimer in the primary election.
He will oppose the winner of the Republican primary – either York County District Attorney Dave Sunday or State Representative Craig Williams – in November.
Current Attorney General Michelle Henry decided to step down at the end of her term and is not seeking re-election.
DePasquale served as Pennsylvania's Auditor General from 2013 to 2021 and also was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007-2013.
He campaigned in the primary to protect women's reproductive freedoms, take on police bureaucracy and to fight for the environment.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, DePasquale has a B.A. in political science from the College of Wooster, a MPA from the University of Pittsburgh and a J.D. from the Widener University School of Law.
Before getting into politics, DePasquale worked as an attorney, served as Director of Economic Development for the City of York, and was a Deputy Secretary for the Department of Environmental Protection.
