What Pa. municipality am I in? Here's how to find out

Knowing your local municipality is important during election season, luckily, Pa. has an easy way to figure it out!

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Knowing your local municipality is important during election season.

Luckily, Pennsylvania has an easy way to figure it out!

A municipality is a political subdivision of a state that provides local government for a specific area and population. Pennsylvania has 2,560 municipalities, which are made up of boroughs, cities, towns and townships.

For those unsure of their district, the Department of State has a handy tool

Users can search for their district information either by using a specific address or county. The search provides the district information based on the entered address or county.

Step-by-step, participants enter their county, city, street name, house number and zip code and click enter.

The program will then show the congressional district, senatorial district and legislative district for that address.

The program is also available in Spanish and Chinese.
