YORK, Pa. — We are exactly one week away from Election Day and Oct. 29 is the last day to request a mail-in ballot.
Thousands of Pennsylvania voters will soon head to the polls to cast their ballots in the 2024 Election.
However, some have already voted by mail.
As of right now, York County’s Office of Elections and Voter Registration has processed close to 70,000 requests for mail-in ballots. That number is about 20,000 less mail-in ballot requests than the 2020 election.
“From a percentage wise, when we look at past elections, we’re kind of going to be in the same pattern of people voting by mail versus voting in person. Our job is to ensure however the voter wants to vote, their vote gets recorded in a manner and for the candidate they so desire,” said York County President Commissioner Julie Wheeler.
If you still wish to receive a mail-in ballot, you have until 5 p.m. on Oct. 29 to request one.
Those who have yet to return their mail-in ballot are urged to mail it by Oct. 29 at the latest.
If you are still waiting to receive your mail-in ballot, it’s best to return it directly to your local election’s office as soon as you obtain it and fill it out.
You can find the status of your Pennsylvania ballot here.
If your ballot is deemed undeliverable, you can visit your local elections office to receive that ballot, or you can vote provisionally on Election Day.
York County’s annual curbside voting service will be on Nov. 2nd and Nov. 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where voters can drop off their vote-by-mail ballot at either of the office locations - 28 East Market Street or 2401 Pleasant Valley Road.
How to track your vote in Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, you can use a PA Voter Services tool to track your mail-in or absentee ballot status by clicking here and filling out the fields.
There, it will tell you when your application was received for a ballot, when the application was processed, when the ballot was mailed, and when it was received, along with the status.
You cannot use this tool to track the status of a ballot voted in person on Election Day.
