Republican incumbent John Joyce wins re-election in Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District

Republican U.S. Rep. John Joyce is headed back to Congress.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Republican U.S. Rep. John Joyce is headed back to Congress after defeating Democratic challenger Beth Farnham in the election for Pennsylvania 13th Congressional District, the Associated Press projects.

Joyce, 67, has represented the 13th District since 2019. The heavily Republican district contains all of Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin and Perry counties, along with small portions of Cumberland and Somerset counties.

Joyce ran on a platform of delivering affordable, quality healthcare to rural communities, lowering energy prices, and expanding high-speed internet access to communities across south-central Pennsylvania.

He has served in Congress as a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the GOP Doctor’s Caucus.

A vocal supporter of Donald Trump, whom he endorsed in this year’s presidential election, Joyce was one of 126 Republican representatives to sign an amicus brief in support of the effort to overturn Pennsylvania’s 2020 election results, which saw Democrat Joe Biden defeat Trump in the Keystone State. The Supreme Court ultimately declined to hear the case.

A native of Altoona, Joyce is a graduate of Penn State University and the Temple University School of Medicine. He practiced internal medicine and dermatology at Johns Hopkins.
