Current State Representative Dawn Keefer (R-92) is running for the 31st District of the Pa. State Senate during the 2024 primary elections.

In January, Keefer announced her plans to run for state senate in the 31st District, which serves residents in Cumberland and York counties.

After serving four terms in seven years, Keefer's term as state representative will end on Nov. 30, 2024.

Keefer lives in Dillsburg with her husband and three children.

She describes herself as being pro-life, a supporter of the Second Amendment, and working to reduce the size and cost of state government.

When she announced her plan to run for state senate, Keefer said, "I am running for the State Senate because there is much more to be done, and I want to use my experience to ensure Pennsylvania becomes the best place to live, work and raise a family.”

“As a state legislator, my constituents can trust that I will continue to work hard for the issues that matter most because your priorities are my priorities,” said Keefer. "While I will focus my efforts in Harrisburg on pressing issues like right-sizing government, supporting our workers and jobs and defending our rights and freedoms, know that the core of my legislative actions are focused on improving the lives of individuals and families here at home."

During her time as a state representative, Keefer challenged policies she believes foster a hostile business climate.

Because of this work, in 2022 Keefer was chosen as chairwoman of the Pennsylvania State Freedom Caucus.

During this year's primary elections, Keefer hopes to take over the seat currently held by Mike Regan (R) who is not running for reelection.
